Fronters in Writing, 2011 Writer’s Conference Scholarship

CCYW has a tuition only scholarship available for a high school student!  If you live in Texas, or would like to travel to Texas from June 24th-25th, the Frontiers in Writing 2011 Writer’s Conference is taking place in Amarillo. The conference takes place at Amarillo College, Washington Street Campus.  Guest speakers include: Angela Hunt, Natalie Bright, David Horsley, Mike Farris, Dr. Mike Bellah, Phyliss Miranda, Randy Palmer, Dianne Sagan, Dr. Donald Mace Williams and more!

In order to apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit an essay expressing their interest and explaining why they are applying for this scholarship. Be specific which scholarship you are applying for. Within the essay, list your specific goals, achievements, awards or positions held in school that would show your professionalism and dedication to learning and/or writing. Please include how your grades are for the current year that you are in. Feel free to provide any letters of recommendation from teachers or professionals in your community. Describe how the scholarship will contribute to your personal or professional goals. Are you considering college? What career are you pursuing?

Make sure to include your name, address, telephone number, parent’s name and contact information, high school and grade that you are in. Proofread your work, have others proofread it and make sure that you submit the application on time. The essay should not exceed two pages, double spaced, size 12 font Times New Roman. Attach your essay as word document and e-mail it to Write “Scholarship Application” in the subject line. In addition to the essay, submit a writing sample of no more than 5 pages!
